This summer we had one of the best things happen to us – Gillian Kenah. She started as an intern and soon became a significant part of the What’s Hamptoning Team. Gillian is an incredibly hard-working, dedicated and passionate person. We are incredibly thankful that our paths have crossed. We are also grateful that even though she is going back to school, she is still going to be a big part of What’s Hamptoning going forward.

What’s Hamptoning wouldn’t be the same without you, Gillian! Enjoy your new school year. You will do great! We love you.

Gillian

As you know our blog is all about getting to know people, their thoughts, their inspirations, and their dreams. At the start of the summer, we asked Gillian about her inspirations, and we wanted to share her answer with you.

Who?

As selfish as it might sound – it’s myself. I’ve had an innate drive to get better or be the best at whatever I do. I get anxiety when I know I’m not performing at the highest level I can, or if I’m wasting my time by not improving myself.

What?

Other people’s stories. I’m inspired to learn more about the lives of other people and listen to what they’ve learned over time. Those are the kind of quotes I remember forever.

Where?

I’m inspired most by New York City. I think there’s a lot more to the hustle and bustle than just the noise. Everyone is grinding, working, creating and doing, no matter their profession. The energy is infectious and unifying, and that’s something I long to be a part of.

When?

ALL DAY, EVERYDAY. It’s always a beautiful day to be alive and go get whatever it is that you want to achieve. It takes a long time to meet success, so that’s why it’s important to put in work every single day.

Why?

Because I want to believe that I’m meant for something bigger. Somehow I need to figure out how I can use my best skills to benefit other people, because what do they matter if they’re not used for the good of all?

How?

That’s something I’m still learning. I’m trying to expose myself to as many experiences as possible in the hopes that I’ll one day know exactly what I’m meant to do.
